		<description>I always thought they were the same thing.  But in the definitions you posted above, they seem different.  Confirmed requires no further action to remain on the list, but simply lets you know you are on the list and allows you to unsubscribe.  Double, on the other hand, requires the user to click a link to remain on the list.</description>
